Plitvice Lakes National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest national park in Croatia. It covers an area of over 295 square kilometers and is located in the Lika-Senj County in central Croatia. The park is known for its unique system of lakes and waterfalls, which have been formed over thousands of years by the deposition of travertine barriers. The lakes are divided into two groups – the Upper Lakes and the Lower Lakes – and are connected by a series of waterfalls and cascades.
